Running Injuries And Charlotte Sports ChiropractorCardiovascular activity is important in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. People pursue this requirement in different manners whether it’s running on a treadmill, biking, or taking a jog through the neighborhood. However, each decision has a reactionary outcome and not all results are positive. It’s best to keep track of each exercise and the impact it has on the human body. As reported in the Huffington Post, running is a good exercise, but does have some pitfalls. Let’s take a look at the two most popular options available to people – treadmills and outside running. Running on a treadmill is straightforward. A person is going to hop on the machine, set the speed/incline, and start running for as long as he/she wants. The belt is going to run at the established speed and it’s important to keep up with the movement for as long as possible before stopping. This machine is wonderful for those looking to get started without heading outdoors. It can be used from the comfort of your home but it is not always safe and here’s why. Potential injuries include: * Knee Pain * Ankle Pain * Hip Soreness * Postural Issues The main issue with the treadmill is its unnatural pattern of movement. A person is often inclined to run using the incorrect form because he/she is guided by the treadmill. For example, some people will quickly hold onto the handles and let their legs move. However, this is completely unnatural compared to real life and is not healthy when done for extended periods. A chiropractor in Charlotte is able to help with these injuries and can reduce some of the soreness that is felt due to the improper form. It will start to add up more and more especially for those running at higher speeds. For those who are going to be using a treadmill, it’s important to maintain the right form from start to finish (back straight, arms close to the body, and running on your toes). This is important with a treadmill or outside running! Outside Running The next option comes in the form of outside running where you rush outdoors to take a jog. This will vary and there are many details that can impact one’s health such as the landscape, elevation, or your running form. * Ankle Pain * Knee Pain * Hip Pain * Shin Splints * Achilles Tendinitis * And More The list is long and it’s important to focus on this with the treadmill or outside running. A chiropractor can eliminate some of these worries and make sure potential issues are taken care of in advance. Final thoughts Low-impact activities are highly recommended and it’s important to pay attention to your body. A chiropractor is one of the premier options for those who are already dealing with niggles and/or full-out injuries. With the help of a seasoned medical professional, it’s possible to regain control of one’s joints and feel good again. Take the time to book an appointment and meet up with a professional to see what he/she has to say about the injury. This can be a wonderful way to feel healthy and get more value out of your body.

Passing or Failing your DOT exam: The most common reasons for failing a DOT physical are high blood pressure and uncontrolled sugar in your urine. Both conditions can commonly be controlled and managed. Another reason for failing a DOT exam would be having any condition that would cause a loss of the ability to operate a commercial vehicle safely, including the loss or impairment of limbs, poor vision, insulin controlled diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, epilepsy, mental disorders or use of certain drugs. DOT medical cards are typically issued for 2 years. However, your medical examiner may issue a card for one year or less, if you have a medical condition that requires monitoring, such as hypertension or the use of a CPAP machine. If you fail your medical exam, your medical examiner may issue you a 3 month medical card and have you return for further follow-up, to be sure that your medical issue is now controlled. Drug testing is not a typical part of the DOT exam but may be required by your employer. Waiver VS Exemption A waiver is temporary regulatory relief from one or more of the FMCSRs given to a person subject to the regulations, or a person who intends to engage in an activity that would be subject to the regulations. A waiver provides the person with relief from the regulation for up to three months. 49 CFR 391.64 provides waivers to CMV drivers who were in the initial vision and insulin programs in the early 1990’s. An exemption is a temporary regulatory relief from one of more of the FMCSRs given to a person or class of persons subject to the regulations, or who intend to engage in an activity that would make them subject to the regulation. An exemption provides the person or class of persons with relief from the regulations for up to two years, but may be renewed. Applying For A Medical Exemption The Federal Diabetes and Vision Exemption Programs have specific requirements, as well as requests for hearing and seizure exemptions. These requests may include medical exams, employment history, driving experience and motor vehicle records which must be submitted with the application. The Agency will make a final decision within 180 days of receipt of the complete application. Applying for an Exemption An individual may apply for an exemption from the diabetes, hearing, seizure and vision standard, section 391.41(b)(3) and 391.41(b)(11), 391.41(b)(8) or 391(b)(10) of the regulation, by utilizing these programs. If you do not currently meet the diabetes, hearing, seizure and/or vision standard and are unable to obtain a medical card, you may be an eligible candidate. Please note that all exemption programs are for drivers who intend to operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in interstate commerce. FMCSA does not have statutory authority to grant waivers/exemptions to drivers from states’ intrastate requirements. Therefore, the FMCSA waivers/exemptions do not permit regulatory relief for drivers who plan to limit their operations to intrastate commerce. How Neck Pain Is Treated:When it comes to dealing with this type of pain, the most popular method of treatment is cervical manipulation. This is a form of neck adjustments that help to loosen the joints of the vertebrae in the neck which can effectively reduce pain that is being experienced from a variety of issues including a pinched nerve and even muscle spasms. The biggest way it is going to be effective in treating neck pain and other related issues are by effectively reducing the pain. It can do this by minimizing the amount of inflammation throughout the neck area.

While they sometimes begin as minor irritations, it doesn’t take long for a pain in the back to become so serious that it affects all other activities from resting to professional productivity. That is why seeking chiropractic care for chronic low back pain relief is a first pronged approach to getting on the path of pain free living. Many times, the underlying causes of a back problem can be subtle, but these are some of the factors that can contribute to back pain: Poor Posture – those who spend many hours at their desk or in other relatively inactive postures, such as studying, gaming, etc. can begin to develop structural changes in the back and neck. When muscles are weaker they allow the body to collapse into the most natural form, this can cause flaws in your structural balance and muscular integrity. As the body adopts improper positions for long periods of time, more pressure is placed on specific bones or spinal discs and muscle strain is greater in one area. If this is not corrected it may cause back pain in itself as the spine is left less resilient to sudden injuries. Car Accidents – Even though symptoms after a car accident can take minuets, to hours, to even days to show up you should always go for a checkup at your local car accident chiropractor. Strains and Fatigue – even a strong back can suddenly become afflicted with pains strains and general weakness. When an especially heavy object is hoisted, the body distributes the weight and pressure evenly through the bones, joints and muscles. The back takes the brunt of this pressure and if the back were slightly misaligned for some reason, it can react unexpectedly and this can be painful. Latent Injuries and Other Conditions – You may think sufficient time has passed to rule out your high-school football injury as the source of your pain, but not so. The truth is, without an ongoing plan for complete and total rehabilitation, these conditions can cause the body to compensate with imbalance. How Would A Chiropractic Clinic Near Me Address Back Pain?Chiropractic treatment is based on the importance of the spine and its correct positioning in addressing back pain as well as enjoying a healthy and pain free life. The central focus of the chiropractic profession is on spinal alignment and manipulation to keep the body’s own regenerative capacities to function optimally. Back Pain Treatment in a Chiropractic SettingWith proper spinal alignment being the ultimate goal of your chiropractic treatment, your first visit to the chiropractor will begin with an evaluation like you would expect in any other medical setting. Depending on the results of your initial examination your chiropractor may require X-Rays to ensure a precise diagnosis and treatment. After this, you and your chiropractor will develop a plan of ongoing treatment to address your spinal conditions. When working with the spine it is essential that adjustments are small, gradual and gentle. A complete treatment for pain management may require several visits over a specific amount of time to complete. During the course of your treatment, proper balance and spinal health will be improved through pressure applied to specific regions of your back and body. This will work to correct any flaws in your spines balance and begin a path to better spinal health and reduced occurrences of pain. This pressure used to adjust the spine is always delivered in small amounts with relatively small impacts. Certain massage practice may aid in the adjustments and pain management. It will be important to discuss the techniques applied by your chiropractor with them before beginning your treatment. In addition to regular the spinal adjustments, your chiropractor may make a few other recommendations for a comprehensive treatment plan for back pain. This may include: – A change in diet – Recommendations for physical activity – Hot and cold packs That’s where the Charlotte Chiropractors come in and help make your recovery a quick and easy one! Unfortunately, the injuries can happen at random and may cause excruciating pain. If you’re ever injured while participating in a sport you enjoy playing, you’ll need to seek immediate medical care to find out what is wrong and then receive treatment for the injury from a sports chiropractor near me. What Types of Sports Injuries Commonly Occur?Certain sports injuries are a bit more common than others. Those who participate in sports are more likely to suffer from sprained ankles and wrists than those who aren’t as physically active. Aside from sprains, athletes may end up with ACL tears causing major pain to the knee and epicondylitis, which is often referred to as tennis elbow. Sprains can happen when you’re running or even getting tackled out on the field. ACL tears often occur in football games because opponents are tackling one another and could end up hitting another opponent’s knee rather hard, thus causing the tear. On the other hand, tennis elbow often develops when a person is repeating the same movements for hours on end, which is something athletes often do when practicing and training. If you end up with one of these injuries, you may be dealing with a lot of pain and won’t be able to participate in any sports until you receive the proper treatment for your injuries. Chiropractic Care For Sports InjuriesWhile different treatment options are often available for those dealing with sports-related injuries, chiropractic care is one of the best options because it requires a bit more of a natural approach to treating the pain by reducing the inflammation and encouraging the body to start healing itself through manual manipulation. When dealing with an ACL tear, the chiropractor may perform manual manipulation on the knee to improve an individual’s range of motion while allowing the healing process to begin. The same thing goes for several other injuries. Manual manipulation may be performed on specific areas of the body that are injured. It’s important to always visit with a licensed and skilled chiropractor who can easily and gently perform these manipulations on you. It’s normal for you to experience some discomfort during a chiropractic session. In fact, you might feel a bit uncomfortable for an additional one to two days after receiving treatment. Once the slight discomfort stops, you should physically start to feel a lot better. Continued Rehabilitation OptionsIn addition to seeking chiropractic care for hands-on treatment that is natural and reduces the need for pain medication, it’s important for you to learn even more about your continued rehabilitation options. When you suffer from a serious sports injury, you’ll need to take a break from the activities you’d normally participate in. It doesn’t mean you can no longer enjoy the sports you love to play, but it does mean taking the time to rest areas of the body that were injured and giving those injuries time to heal before you start getting back to it. If you’re dealing with a sports injury, you should continue to receive chiropractic care at least once a month. The chiropractor can make sure you’re not pushing the limits before fully healing from the injuries you’ve sustained. Aside from continuing to receive care, it’s important for you to start doing light exercises regularly to improve your range of motion, such as swimming in a pool, stretching, and doing yoga. It’s noted as the largest single nerve in the human body. When this nerve is triggered and/or inflamed, it can cause a medical issue known as “sciatica.” This blog post will take a look at the types of injuries that can cause this condition, its response to chiropractic care, and the importance of future rehabilitation. What is Sciatica?Sciatica is considered a medical symptom and not a separate medical diagnosis as some may assume. Instead, it is often linked with persistent lower back problems that trigger symptoms such as the ones associated with this problem. The type of lower back problems that can be linked to this condition includes spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, lumbar herniated disc, and spondylolisthesis. When this medical term is used it’s often used to describe lingering symptoms of leg pain including numbness, tingling, and general weakness. This pain or discomfort can start to travel from the lower back (spine) and head through the buttocks into one’s legs. This can be traced with the sciatic nerve in each leg. Please note, this pain is not always consistent and may become infrequent from time to time. In some cases, the symptoms may be irritating while others may report the pain to be unbearable. Types of InjuriesIn addition to specific medical conditions that can cause this issue, there are other, standalone injuries that can lead to this condition. It’s going to vary from patient to patient, which is why it’s important to have a medical professional take a look as quickly as possible. The injuries can include:* Collisions (Sports) * High-Impact Accidents * General Trauma to the Lower Back * Car Accidents In many cases, doctors will report a noticeable rise in such symptoms with athletes from high-contact sports (i.e. football, rugby). CausesAs mentioned, the causes of these injuries can vary based on what the person was doing or what type of accident they got into. For those with medical conditions, the problem can stem from degenerative disc disease, lumbar spinal stenosis, and Spondylolisthesis. Female patients also report noticing symptoms during and/or after pregnancy. Response to Chiropractic CareChiropractic care is highly recommended as a treatment for this medical issue. It’s incredibly important to speak to a qualified chiropractor and begin customizing a treatment plan. The chiropractor will be able to assess the condition, its symptoms, and how to tackle it professionally. The treatment plan will include specific exercises, movements, and additional therapy that is catered to the patient’s needs. Future CareContinued rehabilitation is of utmost importance and does have a role to play in the treatment process. It’s important to have a proper treatment plan in place with rehabilitation kept in mind. This should include a noticeable lifestyle change from top to bottom. Future care should include:* A Detailed Exercise Regimen (Includes Stretching) * Healthy Diet (Complete Intake of Nutrients) * Elimination of Heavy Lifting The goal of rehabilitation is to maximize previous results and keep the symptoms at bay. This will continue to keep the body in good shape and it’s best to incorporate these changes as soon as possible. If so, a chiropractor Charlotte NC practitioner can be the solution to your troubles. These experts are capable of treating a wide range of aches and pains, including sciatica. Don’t allow yourself to suffer in silence any longer! Chiropractors have undergone rigorous medical training before being allowed to practice. Rather than viewing the human body as a bunch of separate organs and tissues, chiropractic honors the interconnectedness of the entire being. The treatments offered by your Charlotte chiropractor will depend on several factors, including the complaints you present. For instance, strains from repetitive use will require an entirely different treatment plan than someone who has been seriously injured in a car accident. During your first visit, the chiropractor will take a complete assessment of your medical history and current troubles. This is done to see how your nervous system, skeleton, and muscles are interacting with each other. Even slight imbalances can wreak havoc on your health and wellness. In addition to pains along the spine, chiropractors can help to relieve other types of conditions caused by spinal misalignment including radiating pain. When your spine isn’t properly aligned, it can place excess pressure on the nerves in the area. Imbalances can occur in related places throughout the body as a result. Once an assessment has been made and a course of treatment decided on, the chiropractor will make small adjustments to your spine. Generally these are done through manual manipulations. However, these pros have a lot of tools at their disposal that can improve your experience and results. A chiropractor Charlotte NC provider will also provide you with exercises to do at home. These are done to help correct your spinal misalignment permanently. These targeted exercises will balance stretching and strengthening techniques to give you greater stability and reduce your pains. Many people don’t realize that many chiropractors offer nutritional counseling in addition to spinal manipulations. Because the goal of chiropractic care is to restore health naturally, good nutrition fits right in. The fact is that you can’t achieve good health if you are downing fast food and coffee all day long. In order to ensure that you are happy with your experience, it is important that you look into your options before deciding on a chiropractor. There are several things that you need to consider, including location. Try to choose one near your home so that you can rest afterwards if necessary. Find out what types of services are available from the various providers near your house. You want a chiropractor who offers several types of treatment plans to ensure that you get the best care possible. Don’t forget to check out reviews that have been left by previous patients. Rather than look at their website, visit other review sites to achieve a full view. If you are in pain, it is time to take the bull by the horns and change your treatment plans. Chiropractors provide a great range of services based in self-healing. Use these as the foundation for your health and wellness efforts.
